Old Year

I would like to take this opportunity. Opportunity is a window. A window which offers the chance to step out into a new world. Possibly better, possibly worse. The important thing is - it is a new environment.

As we step through this portal into the new year, everyone is gonna talk about New Year, resolutions, hopes and dreams. I wanna talk about what lay behind the window i'm gonna now leave.

2006 was an eventful year! Friendships fostered, heartaches, good times, bad times, times buried in work, but overall it was great. Got to visit quite a few places, like Vietnam (x2), Cambodia, Bangkok (x2), Sydney. Malaysia of course.

With every year past comes along invaluable lessons to be learnt. Daryll's lesson of the year to all peeps: girls please cut down on make up! i mean, everyone is beautiful in their own way. Save ur money, Save ur skin, Save the environment, Save the whales, save senseless vanity for another planet! If you're beautiful, you're beautiful. Don't overkill! It's like stewing beef in a pot for 3 days. It don't bring out the best in the beef man. Eyeliner to define and bring out your windows to your souls is perfect. Eyes are beautiful. Windows to your souls. This post is about the windows. Windows of opportunity. Windows that sparkle.

I have no idea what to expect from this year, except i'll be in the US & A from May to August. Besides that, i'm sure it'll be a blast with a few surprises around the coroner. (taiwanese spelling)

For all fiends who have had a tough year to forget. Forget. For everyone else. Embrace. A good hug never failed to spread some warmth.

Some trends to look out for in 2007

1. Women with moustache. As men get in touch with their feminine side, it is only natural that women will sport the "new fur". No risk of PETA action is expected.

2.Women with smoker lips. Once, fat women were hot. Now, they still get warm easily. But i mean, nows a day ( chinglish) women are stick thin. This year, black is beautiful. I mean, you can use black lipstick and all, but the true beauties are those with naturally black lips. Born to ooze evil. Goth personified. The rest can officially stop trying.

3.Bangs are out. Organic style is in. Never heard? Organic hairstyling is a new concept where stylists treat nostril hair and in a stroke of sheer genius blend nostril hair with scalp hair to form a continuous free form curve. Eco design at its fundamental best. Understated beauty. Envy surrounds the rest.

4.Skinny caps. Out with truckers. Out with fedoras. Out with all the rest. Skinny caps ace the test! Just like skinny jeans, skinny caps may feel a little tight around the head initially. (what an understatement) Like Nudie jeans and the rest, it grows to fit your head contours with time. Any extra bumps and humps and irregularities on your head that make you special also make your skinny cap stand out. Literally! The wash patterns become more pronounced with time as irregularities on your head create one-of-a-kind raw denim patterns worthy of showing off to the rest of the regular headed world!

5.Ear and nose wax furniture. The design world has opened its eyes and fallen deeply in love with sustainable design and eco design! Why use products that require landfill?! Why design products that are easily taken apart to be recycled? Why consider less harmful items that are still harmful! Use ear and nose wax. Unlimited resources await potential designers. Unleash the creativity. Unleash your yellow matter! When you use grey matter to shape yellow matter, waste is NO matter. Organic shapes? No problem. Just sand it down and finish it however u like. Lamps, Sofas, Tables, coffeetables, bed frames. When you meet with such stunning furniture, the one question every one must face is - why did i throw so much away? I wasted all the possibility that i created day after day but never finished! This year, genius comes to town, wax geniuses abound!
